The Gokai / Reiki Precepts are the foundational cornerstone for Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki, they are guiding principles for life. Recited in Japanese they have a vibrational resonance about them, that seems to touch your soul. Everyday we bring the Gokai into our Reiki practice, it gently calls us to sit in the present moment. Knowing that the present moment is all we have.

Growing up in the 70’s and 80’s I’ve always been drawn to Elvis, the Rock’n’roll era, Solid Gold Hits and the Bee Gees. I’ve many happy nostalgic memories of the record player spinning like a shiny plate of licorice in the warmth of our lounge, belting out snazzy beats as I grooved my way through my youth.

It’s an unusual time in the world right now, many of us have been in our isolation bubbles at home, as we’ve come together, yet apart to allow the movement of change to take place. These past few weeks we’ve had the opportunity to go deep within ourselves, to open our eyes and take a good look around our own inner world and work out what we’d like to keep and what we’d like to change. We’ve had time at home to openly reflect on ourselves, and our lives as we know it.
